Tucson Gem, Mineral and Fossil Shows

We headed to the Tucson Gem, Mineral and Fossil shows over the weekend for Karen to search for a purple amethyst cathedral to set beside the fireplace. With over 40 different shows around the city, we were only able to visit a handful of them. However, Karen did find one that she liked and was within the price range that she was willing to spend. It is a tad over 26 inches tall.

While wondering around another show, this one caught our eye. We both loved the deep purple and decided to make an offer on it. Standing a little under 12 inches tall, it set us back about the same price as the taller one.

Several sets of amethyst 'angel wings' caught our eye, but at prices ranging from $7,000 to $11,000 dollars, they were well out of our price range. That, and we would need a bigger house to display them!

We found the cathedral below rather interesting. I have no idea what they were asking for this one, but I'm certain it was way out of our budget. Plus, we would really would need a much, much bigger house to display this huge cathedral!

We found the next two in the Tucson Convention Center. This show seemed to have some of the highest quality, and most expensive, items in the shows that we were able to visit during the two days were were here. The first was $11,000 and the other was $25,000. Definitely out of our price range!
